Bringing together geoscience students and industry professionals
On March 5th, 94 students from Universities around the world, set up posters in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Students research concentrated on innovative projects essential for the succesful evolution of the modern mining industry. The event featured poster presentations from BSc, MSc and PhD students studying mineral deposits and related disciplines. Student posters were organized into 8 categories based on poster content and, if applicable, deposit type. Posters in each category were grouped into geographic regions and topics span a wide range of disciplines including geochemistry, geophysics, geographic information systems, field-based studies, experiemental studies, and other interdisciplinary studies.
Thank you to our student leaders from the Laurentian University and Ottawa-Carleton Geoscience Centre SEG Student Chapters for organizing the event as well as our hosts PDAC, the SEG Canada Foundation, the Mineral Exploration Research Centre (MERC) and the Goodman School of Mines at Laurentian University. The event could also not have been made possible without support from our sponsors at G4 Drilling, Franklin Geosciences Ltd., ALS, and MERC.
Congratulations to our 2019 Award Recipients!
