The Laurentian Society of Economic Geologists (SEG) Student Chapter is heading out today on a 13-day mine tour in Southwestern USA! There are a total of 15 students participating ranging from BSc, MSc and Phd students, and they will be visiting a total of 5 mines.

Starting on Apr 3, 2017, Rémy Poulin (M.Sc.) has been hired to be the new electron microprobe operator at the Harquail School of Earth Sciences.

Dr. Taus Jørgensen successfully achieved his PhD in Mineral Deposits and Precambrian Geology from Laurentian University on March 28, 2017. Dr. Jørgensen's topic was titled the "Evolution of the Sudbury Igneous Complex Southern Metamorphic Aureole and Control on Anatexis".
