The Mineral Exploration Research Centre (MERC) hosted seven field trips in the Abitibi and Wabigoon subprovinces after finishing the third field season of their flagship Metal Earth project. Metal Earth that focuses on differential metal endowment in Archean greenstone belts offered the field trips along the Metal Earth transects in Chibougamau (Québec), Lader Lake, Cobalt, Rainy River, Dryden, Sturgeon, and Geraldton (Ontario).
