Intrusion-related gold systems in the western Wabigoon subprovince; Investigations of the Lost Lake area, ON

From Calgary, Alberta, grew up spending time hiking and skiing in the Rocky Mountains. Completed my BSc (Hons) in geology at University of Manitoba. My research interests include structural geology, metamorphism and alteration, and mineral exploration.

Since Fall 2018, I have been working on a Metal Earth project to investigate intrusion-related gold systems in the western Wabigoon subprovince; Investigations of the Lost Lake area, Ontario.  This work aims to document the relative timing, structural setting, and alteration pattern associated with large felsic-intermediate intrusions to determine their potential as exploration targets for intrusion-related gold systems. The study area is located in the Lost Lake area, located approximately 55 km SE of Dryden, Ontario. It is a poorly documented domain in the western Wabigoon subprovince with great outcrop exposure, well-preserved igneous relationships, and several recently reported gold occurrences. My supervisor is Dr. Stéphane Perrouty.
