The goal of my project is to come up with a genetic model for gold emplacement at the two deposits and how they relate to each other and to other deposits in the Abitibi, as well as identify potential vectors towards mineralization.

    I am investigating the genesis and fluid evolution of the Late Cretaceous Klaza Au-Ag-Pb-Zn-(Cu) epithermal deposit and it's implications to the metallogeny and tectonic evolution of the Mount Nansen gold corridor in the Dawson Range, West-central Yukon. This project has expanded to include comparative investigations on the Casino deposit's Bomber Pb-Zn-Ag epithermal veins as well as the Tinta Hill epithermal deposit. This project is funded by NRCan's Targeted Geoscience Initiative (5): Deep Porphyry Processes, with strong support from Rockhaven Resources Ltd.

    I am part of the Metal Earth project, and I have focused on applications of geophysical potential field data (i.e. gravity and magnetic) to distinguish the difference between endowed and less endowed regions, which will identify areas for future mineral exploration. My supervisor is Dr. Richard Smith, and my thesis entails both field work (acquiring gravity and petrophysical databases across many transect, with more than a few hundred km of data collection in Quebec and Ontario provinces) and office work to process and model the acquired data in a manner consistent with seismic and magnteotelluric data.

    Research Title: Mineralogical Characterisation of Platreef Ore on the Turfspruit Farm, Northern Limb, Bushveld Complex, South Africa The primary aim of the study is to assess the mineralogy of the Turfspruit Cyclic Unit (mineralised zone) and finally characterize it. This will be achieved by selecting drillholes from particular sections of the Ivanplats Platreef project in Mokopane, South Africa to work with. Sampled collected from drilled core will be selected from targetted thick and thin reef sections to deduce spatial mineralogical variability.
